We recently started sending inventory to Canada, so now we have inventory at Amazon USA & Amazon Canada,
To best keep track of our inventory in Netsuite. I created specific Amazon Canada location.
Trouble I just discovered, is sometimes Amazon will ship items from USA to Canada. this causes confusion as its can’t be fulfilled.
Maybe I should have left all amazon as a single location? anyone have experience with this.
Thanks.
Hi Pete,
As far as the flow is concerned — when Amazon Multi-Location Fulfillment is enabled, allowing customers in Canada to place orders that are fulfilled from a U.S. location — we can only configure the flow to pull inventory from a specific NetSuite location when creating the order record. However, we’re unable to determine which Amazon fulfillment center actually fulfilled the order, as the Amazon Order JSON does not include that level of detail.
Regarding your question about whether it would have been better to use a single NetSuite location for all Amazon orders — that is indeed one of the common approaches taken by some of our customers. (Please note that these are based on individual customer setups and may not necessarily work in every case.) Others prefer to maintain separate SKUs or NetSuite locations for different marketplaces (e.g., U.S. and Canada) to gain more regional visibility.
Ultimately, the best approach depends on your specific business requirements. We recommend evaluating which option aligns best with your operational needs.
