Options to use one Flow for multiple trading partners

I'm building an integration that has exceptionally simple EDI requirements with a very limited scope of options and values that will be supported. For example, no pricing data, no addresses, 3 trade skus, 2 shipping methods, etc. We've defined our EDI specification and guidance with the goal to have all trading partners share the same Integration and Flows. I know many of us have that goal, but on this project I think it's actually attainable!

Well, except I'm afraid it may not be because I can't figure out how to use B2B Manager in way that will facilitate sharing a Flow with multiple trading partners. Being new to B2B Mgr, this was quite a shock: before B2B Mgr (the "legacy" way) this would be trivial.
The issues that I perceive are blocking the use of a shared Flow:

  1. Exports and Imports are linked to a single EDI Profile - that's kind of the deal breaker right there
  2. Automatic 997 handling - likewise, I don't see a way this can work with multiple EDI profiles

What I had hoped would be possible (inbound example):

  1. Import step loads EDI documents from FTP directory that contains all the files from all our trading partners
  2. Because there are EDI Profiles, IIO would resolve the applicable EDI profile based on the ISA segment details in the file (i.e., "dynamic trading partner assignment" is what I'd call that)
  3. Flow does it's thing, IIO generates 997, etc.

What are my options here using B2B Mgr when I truly have a flow that can service multiple trading partners? How do I avoid duplicating the Flows or Integrations for each one?

If there are no options with B2B Mgr, is there a way to avoid using it altogether (other than cancelling the license)?

Hi @steveklett - thanks for reaching out, and for the clear description of the problem.

This is workable today, and given your simple spec you're closer to the shared-flow goal than you think. Rather than trying to cover it all here, can we grab 30 minutes to walk through it? I'll post a summary back on this thread afterward so anyone else running into the same thing benefits.

Suggested Steve to use the same EDI profile for all the trading partners by adding multiple export steps to the same flow and use branching for routing the data to the import step as needed, based on unique identifiers.

Also, recommended to turn off the EDIProfileValidation to re-use the same EDI profile.
