No. According to FTP requirements, a username should only consist of letters, digits, underscores, periods, @ signs, and dashes. It shouldn't start with a dash (as defined by IEEE Std 1003.1-2001). In such cases, you must change the username to remove the space character or replace the space with an underscore or another supported character. Using quotes around the username or a backslash (\) to escape the space character won't work.
